General Socials

General Socials are your opportunity to get to know fellow members of the club, sign up for Charter Trips, Special Socials events and participate in some fun activities. Check out the schedule and read the weekly e-blasts to see what we have planned this season!

General Socials are held every two weeks (either Wednesday or Thursday) throughout the winter season beginning with the Annual General Meeting. The schedule and events are listed here – please make sure to check the schedule on a regular basis as we are continually exploring new and convenient places to hold our general socials!

Equipment Expo: NTSC's Ski Show
Whether you're an avid double diamond skier, skilled backcountry boarder or a new participant to the sport come take the opportunity to meet some of the knowledgeable reps from the local ski shops. We will have some of NTSC's instructors on hand for info and advice as well. We will also be raffling off some great prizes and swag.

The old favourite with NTSC. Our General socials are usually held in the McNeil room on the 2nd floor. Whistlers is located on Broadview just north of Pottery Road.

If you are travelling by TTC, take the Danforth line to Broadview station. You can take the bus north on Broadview - and get off at Mortimer Avenue.

Limited parking is located at the rear of Whistlers, also street side on Mortimer Avenue and the surrounding neighbourhood.

Six Degrees is a trendy and fashionable uptown nightclub on Yonge, just north of Eglinton. The club has a dress code so be prepared to dress to impress—no sneakers, dressy-casual preferred.

Sports Centre Cafe is one of our newest venues and we are excited to be holding some of our Thursday socials here. Join us at this very casual, easy-going sports bar.

The venue is located at Yonge and St. Clair, minutes walk from St. Clair station on the south-west side.

Another new exciting venue for us at NTSC is the Twisted Kilt. This authentic Scottish bar offers a comfy, relaxed experience and also a private function room.

The bar is located at Yonge and Davisville just a short walk on the north-west of the intersection with easy access by TTC to Davisville Station.

Pay-Parking is available on the side streets and also in the surrounding pay lots.

Take the 54A Lawrence East Bus at Yonge and Eglinton Station; get off at the SECOND Railside Road bus stop. North Beach Volley Ball Venue is a 7 min walk along railside Rd.

One of our favourite nights of the season is held at Andy Pool hall for NTSC's Annual Pool Tournament. The venue is located near Little Italy.

To get there via TTC, take the Bathurst streetcar south from Bathurst Station or the College streetcar west from College Station.

Pay-parking is also available on the street or on the South-West corner of Bathurst and College, across from Sneaky Dee’s Bar.

Our final new venue for the season is the famous “The 3 Brewers pub and Micro-Brewery”. Come and sample a unique beer-tasting experience at this authentic micro-brewery with a delicious “brasserie” type menu. The pub has a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

The venue is located across from Sears at the Eaton Centre, just a quick walk from Dundas Station on the south east side of the street.

Pay-parking is available on the side streets and also in the many pay lots and Green P lots in the area.

Boston Pizza is also an old favourite of ours and is located just east of Eglinton Station. Pay-parking is available on the side streets and in the surrounding pay lots.

Boston Pizza is located on the north side of Eglinton, just east of Yonge Street.
It is easily accessible from Eglinton subway station.
If you are driving, there are many pay-parking lots along Eglinton as well as street parking on the various side streets.

Anytime you or your friends eat at Boston Pizza, NTSC gets 15% back on your food purchases when you write “North Toronto Ski Club” on your bill and slip it into the box by the front door.

This means more free pizza for you at the next social…yummy!  


We do not encourage drinking and driving; all of our events are very easily accessible by TTC so that you can enjoy your night.
