TRAVEL INSURANCE
CANADA trips. NTSC and Tour Operators strongly recommended to purchase travel medical and trip cancellation and interruption insurance, either through our Tour Operators or another third party provider. You can purchase a travel insurance policy covering cancellation due to medical conditions, trip interruption due to flight cancellations or delays (e.g. overnight hotel cost if a connection is missed) and covering medical and trip-related expenses while you are away. You can also add on to this policy, "Cancel For Any Reason" insurance (CFAR) which allows you to cancel at any time, or for any reason. Trip participants who do not purchase travel insurance will be required to confirm they have other coverage or understand they are responsible for any and all costs associated with trips cancellation/interruption.
NEW THIS SEASON. USA and Europe trips. Participants are required to provide proof of travel medical insurance coverage. In the past, participants who did not have out-of-country medical insurance have placed an undue burden on Trip Leaders and Travel Committee Reps. Injuries do occur and it is unsafe and can be very expensive to not have out-of-country medical coverage. Trip interruption insurance is also strongly recommended.
Comprehensive Insurance coverage can also be added to a newly purchased policy. The premium is due with the deposit.
If you choose not to purchase any travel insurance, the tour operator, airlines, resorts and/or NTSC have no obligation to provide refunds or cover extra costs you may incur. Please protect yourself!
- Depending on the Tour Operator, the insurance premium will be due at or near the time of your deposit. A package plan can be purchased through Skican(flights) or Voyages Gendron (flights) or Express Tours(bus), Merit (bus) or Expedia (bus).
- For trips where Skican is the Tour Operator, Allianz is the insurer. You will be given the option to select insurance coverage via the Skican web portal when you pay your trip deposit to Skican.

Amongst the various products Allianz offer is “Cancel Anytime for an Unforeseen Reason” (CAFUR) insurance which can be purchased within 14 days of the your trip deposit being paid. Other products such as regular Trip Cancellation, Medical, or Comprehensive coverage without the additional “CFAR” can be purchased beyond the 14 days.

- For trips where Voyages Gendron is the Tour Operator, Manulife is the insurer. You will be given the option to select insurance coverage via the Voyages Gendron web portal when you pay your trip deposit to Voyages Gendron.
- For trips where Express Tours is the Tour Operator, Manulife is the insurer. You will be given the option to select insurance coverage via the Express Tours web portal when you pay your trip deposit to Express Tours.
- For trips where Expedia Cruises is the Tour Operator, Manulife is the insurer. You will be given the option to select insurance coverage via the Expedia Cruises web portal after you pay for your trip.
